Classic little black dress by renown vintage designer Carlye. A 50s summer dress in excellent condition.
The sleeveless bodice is beautifully styled back and front so the lace inserts radiate from the round neckline to waist. Both the neckline and armholes are finished with fine piping. The neckline also has lace trim insert.
The skirt is pleated with double box pleats all round. The dress is designed so most pleats have the lace inserts down the middle and some don’t. It is not lined. Closes at the back with a long metal zip.
The fabric is not jet black. It is a lighter black. This is not caused by fading. It is just the fabric which seems to be a soft cotton or possibly a blend.
Condition Excellent. The original belt is missing from this 50s summer dress, but the belt shown (not vintage) is included

Please check measurements as the waist measurements were very small and the girls shorter in the 1950s. Measurements are measured flat on dress so please remember to allow room to move. It is always a good idea to check measurements against a dress that you know fits
